DocBee is committed to protecting your privacy and sensitive medical data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information while using the DocBee platform.

By creating an account or using the DocBee Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the collection, processing, storage, and sharing of your personal and health information as described herein. Where required by applicable law, additional consent will be obtained before processing sensitive medical information.

DocBee recognizes that health information is sensitive personal data and applies additional safeguards designed to secure your personal health records and maintain professional confidentiality at all times.

Definitions

  • "Personal Information" means information that identifies or can reasonably identify an individual.
  • "Health Information" means medical records, consultation details, prescriptions, laboratory reports, diagnostic images, and other information related to an individual's physical or mental health.
  • "Platform" refers to the DocBee website, mobile applications, and related services.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Identity Information

Name, age, gender, phone number, email address, and other registration-related information.

Health & Medical Data

Medical history, symptoms, diagnoses, prescriptions, consultation notes, laboratory reports, diagnostic images, treatment plans, uploaded medical documents, vital signs, investigation results, and other health-related information voluntarily provided during consultations.

Technical Information

IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, crash reports, and app usage analytics.

Device Permissions

Depending on the features you choose to use, DocBee may request permission to access your camera, microphone, notifications, storage or photo library, and internet connection. These permissions are used solely to provide requested functionality such as video consultations, uploading medical documents, and appointment reminders.

Video & Audio Communications

Live video and audio communications are protected using encrypted communication protocols. DocBee does not record or store video consultations by default. If recording is ever introduced as a feature, it will only occur with the explicit consent of all required participants and where permitted by applicable law.

3. Data Sharing & Disclosure

No Sale of Personal Data

DocBee does not sell, rent, or trade your personal or medical information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

With Healthcare Professionals

Your selected healthcare provider will have access to medical information necessary to provide consultation and treatment services.

Healthcare Professional Responsibilities

Healthcare professionals using DocBee are responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with applicable medical ethics, Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC) standards, and relevant healthcare regulations.

Third-Party Service Providers

DocBee works with trusted third-party service providers to operate and deliver the Platform, including cloud hosting providers, payment gateways, notification services, SMS providers, email providers, analytics platforms, video communication providers, identity verification providers, and customer support services. These providers only receive the specific information necessary to perform their tasks on our behalf and are bound by legal and contractual obligations to protect your information.

Business Transfers

If DocBee undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable legal requirements and this Privacy Policy.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by applicable Bangladesh law, legal process, regulatory authorities, or valid court orders.

  • Access to medical records is restricted using role-based access controls and authentication.
  • Security monitoring and audit logs are maintained to help detect unauthorized access.
  • We regularly review, test, and improve our administrative, technical, and organizational security measures to protect personal and health information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

5. Account Deletion & Data Rights

Right to Delete

Deleting your account may permanently remove access to certain services. Some information may continue to be retained where required by applicable law or regulatory obligations.

Data Accuracy

You are responsible for ensuring that the personal and medical information you provide is accurate, complete, and kept up to date.

Data Retention

Medical records, transaction information, audit logs, and legal documentation may be retained for periods required by Bangladesh law, applicable healthcare regulations, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, taxation, and other legal obligations. After the applicable retention period expires, information will be securely deleted, anonymized, or retained only where continued retention is required by law.

Where applicable, users may manage or disable cookies through their browser or device settings, although doing so may affect certain Platform features.

8. Cloud Storage & Data Processing

Your information may be processed or stored on secure cloud infrastructure operated by trusted service providers. Appropriate technical and organizational safeguards are implemented to protect your information regardless of where it is processed.

9. Security Incidents

If a security incident affecting your personal information occurs, DocBee will investigate the incident and provide notifications to affected users where required by applicable law.

10. Marketing Communications

Users may opt out of promotional communications at any time. Service-related notifications, appointment reminders, verification messages, and security alerts may still be sent as necessary to provide the Platform.

DocBee processes personal and health information in accordance with applicable laws of Bangladesh, relevant healthcare regulations, Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC) guidelines where applicable, professional medical ethics, and other applicable laws and regulations.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or security practices. Updated versions will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
